Waves seem to have been with us on the east coast more or less all week, and the promise was for them to last into this w/e. Couldn't get during the week because of work, but was on standby for an 'early' this morning if the local wind played ball. Woke up around 6.30 to find that it was, so decided to go for it when Russ texted me around 7 to say that it was 1-2' though marginal at Mablethorpe. I figured that this should improve a little when the tide withdrew back to the banks after HT [7.28].
I arrived at Huttoft to find one other surfer suiting up and was in myself around 8.30. There were some nice peaks forming, that were being gently fanned by a light offshore breeze. The sun too was coming out and the chance of pleasant early autumn surf was in prospect. And so it turned out as I was straight into some nice long rides right from the start. For a short while too, the waves increased in size to nearer 3', though this didn't last anywhere long enough. Not long after these disappeared, so did any other ridable wave and so I got around 10.15 happy with my lot, and hoping the forecast increase in swell for tomorrow goes off. Will report back tomorrow if this is the case.
