"Anyone surfed the Crozon area? La Palue (think that's how it's spelt) nearest town Morgat is an hour away from Roscoff. Nice beach break and a point round the corner if there's enough size. Super friendly locals and a nice town. La Torche is just down the road. Holds big surf and is
renowned for sneaker sets."

"You'll probably be too warm in the 5mm winter suit, but will need a 3mm summer suit....Your ancient holey one just might not be enough. It's surprising how cold the water can be as it doesn't get warmed by the gulf stream as it does here [UK]. (By S. of France, I assume as a surfer you mean south of the W. Coast, not the South of France Med coast) So, you'll probably need a similar suit to one you'd use here.....pack the 5mm just in case and when there treat yourself to a nice new fexible 3/2mm summer convertible suit..."

"... or a rashie and shorts. It's warm enough during summer..."

"Good spots for beginners: check out Royan, La Suzie etc in Brittanny. Not as big as Hossegor or Biarritz, lower fuel costs, nearer"

" Check out the Lacanau tourist board page, they have a link to the Surf cam in Lacanau. Also http://www.eurosurf.tm.fr/ for surf checks."
