Ever thought about how to get into the Surfing Industry? Newquay Treviglas Community College is pleased to announce a new two year course that is dedicated to the whole surfing industry. Members of the surf academy will develop their surfing skills, complete an AVCE in leisure/recreation (Totally surfing orientated), gain accreditation in Surf coaching/surf lifesaving, develop skills in board shaping/construction by working with local surf businesses on work placement, the placements will provide students with valuable skills and knowledge through experienced personnel. RIP CURL,GUL, ANIMAL and ALDER have all expressed an interest in the work placement scheme. Students will become qualified as Beach Lifeguards and surf coaches during the course. The new course will have direct access to the University of Plymouth. The University is currently developing a new Surfing and Business degree and students who complete the course at the Academy will have guaranteed passage to the degree.
