Oh..and to add insult to injury...Naips texted me yesterday [Tues] to let me know it had been working nicely on Monday too!!. Huttoft does seem to be a good option though. It was 2-3 on Monday while Skeg was barely 1.

Perhaps I should have bothered yesterday after all. Russ & Rob apparently found Huttoft working OK and as clean as a whistle. To be fair on myself though, I have had some health concerns over the last week which were distracting. Although, these have been eased somewhat this morning following a visit to the Docs. It does seem that Huttoft may be worth a look though as it it clearly holds a wave better than Skeg at times which is something I suspected following my visit there on Friday. The waves approach the beach in a more full on manner than Skeg does which does give the impression of a [weaker] point break mainly. Hutt' also seems a foot or so bigger. Food for thought anyway; but not today as work means I can't have a look later.

Even though Cayton was apparently bigger, I didn't even bother today!!

If I thought yesterday was a disappointment, then today was worse still!
I'd have laid odds on there being at least a small clean wave. There was no breeze to speak of, and although Ceefax had Cayton down on yesterday at 1-2, I still felt there was a chance. Wrong! As good as flat and not even a tempting ankle slapper!!!!!
So for the time being at least I'm well P.O.'d. There's always tomorrow I suppose, as ever.

Well there is some swell working down the east coast...it just hasn't reached this far down yet! Had a butchers over at Skeg at lunchtime but the onshore sea breeze was messing what waves there were, up. Took the opportunity to have a look further up the coast at Huttoft, which although slightly bigger was still messed up. By the time I'd got back to Skeg', it had dropped altogether..the waves that is, not the breeze. Went home but with hope of something better tomorrow. It's not often I don't get in even if it is poor, but this was worse than that.

You'll have probably guessed that there wasn't any more swell since my last post; none that I was aware of anyhow. May be some over this w/e which'll be good as the tide times and heights are favourable.
Just over two weeks till we head to Bude which'll be a boost. Hoping to get down a day or so earlier to take in the Boardmasters at Spukey. Press passes [!] are on order so hope to see them soonish. Could meet up with AndyO there as he's hoping to cover it for the Independant. Either way, they'll be other meet ups too, with the likes of Gav & Parky to name a couple.

That swell was as shortlived as expected. By Saturday lunchtime..history! Looks as if we may get some more by the end of this week though.
