Got in yesterday for the first time since beginning of December. Conditions weren't ideal though there was a 2-3' wave to be had; albeit more than a little messy with a gusty wind turning more and more NE. Still, I got out [eventually!], the paddle out being hampered by feeling rusty and a strong cross rip. Virtually ended up at Skeg, having got in at Huttoft!! The rustiness continued with only one wave of note in about an hour and a half in the water. Then, to add insult, on getting out and beginning to get changed came the heaviest snow shower to add a little spice to the process. Never mind, it was still nice to meet up with Naips, Russ and Rob again....even if I didn't spend much time in the same area of water with them.

It's been way too long since I got in the surf, probably the first time in a few years since I have had such an enforced lay off. The ankle finally healed towards the end of January, since when it's been a case of opportunity. With that in mind, and the fact that there is some swell to be had with this northerly blast down the east coast, I'm hoping to get in over the weekend sometime.
